Catching Up

Image result for real fairy tale pictures

So, to begin, yes, I'm still alive. But life happens and blogging is about the last thing on my list of things to do.  To tell the truth, I'm not really busy. I'm home almost 24/7. But, yeah... blogging just doesn't happen. Partly because I find it nearly impossible to find things to write about. But today, I will catch you up and, well, I'm not making any promises, but I will try to post more than once a year.

  • Happy Fathers Day! I always feel weird wishing a happy fathers day to people who are not dads, but I guess it's a day to celebrate our dads.

I also find it weird to talk about myself, so bear with me.  Right,  now I'm done talking about myself. Kidding.

                                                                           things I'm interested in:

<~> Writing. It's basically every homeschooled girls dream to write a story. They usually don't get anywhere, but have some fun nonetheless. For me, I'm getting a little more serious and considering it as a career. I have never actually finished a story, short story or novel, but am hoping to in the next year or two.

<~> ...

Okay, moving on.

                                                                                             hobbies:

<~> Writing.

<~> Reading. I think that goes without saying.

Wow, I'm actually really boring.

                                                         Upcoming events:

<~> I'm going to be an aunt!!!! Excuse me for a second while I scream. the announcement

<~> My family went insane early last year and got three puppies. Excuse me while I scream again. We're going to have puppies in the beginning of July. Not nearly as exciting as becoming an aunt, but still worth mentioning.

<~> Summer. But I have no idea what I'm doing this summer, so don't ask. ( probably going out for ice cream every day)

Well... as short as that was, I can't think of anything else. You know, all you people who blog every day and have really creative posts and have a gazillion followers, you rock. I can't even imagine doing that. I think I stick with my once every few months. Okay, so maybe every month since I 'didn't ' promise to do better.

December 25th//Christmas

                                                         Merry Christmas!

Guess what? You'll never guess, so I'll tell you!;) We have snow! And ice...but still, we had a White Christmas! Anyway...
Just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas, and share this video. These guys are amazing, and the dedication was really sweet! Don't forget the real reason for this holiday, as we all tend to do. We get so wrapped up (pun intended) with the presents and Santa Claus, and everything else. Just keep in mind the importance of this day. Ever wondered what would have happened if Mary said 'no'? if the shepherds rolled over and went back to sleep? What if the innkeeper had decided to squeeze them in somewhere?

" But the angel said them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the city of David a Savior has bee born to you; He is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
                                                                                                               Luke 2:10-12

First Day of Fall!

And happy first day of fall!
September 22 at 8:02pm is the first day of fall!

Here are a couple of my favorite things about fall:

- the rain, but after a few months of it, well, let's just say it won't be on this list!

- the colors

- tea (preferably peppermint or something fruity, 'cause all you people who drink earl grey, and stuff like that are weird!:)

- sweaters ('cause that's what fall is for!)

- books

- soup( chicken noodle or potato to be specific)

- hanging out inside and watching the Little House on the Prairie series

And I could go on... actually I've kind of run out of favorites. Well, have a great weekend!

Summer's End

I'm definitely ready for rain and sweaters, and tea. And more sweaters. But still, summer is awesome, and I'm going to miss it... after a few weeks of rain. Anyway, my summer was actually kind of lazy, but it was good, of course. I mean, how can a summer not be?;) Well, I am looking forward to 9 months of actual structure in my life, because my summer, well, didn't.

And these are my top 10 favorite things of the summer:

- relaxing with my bible, a book and maybe a notebook for writing

- having nothing to do but chores and more reading

- the walks, hikes, and picnics

- playing around with our three lab puppies ( note to self, take pictures to post)

- swimming, cliff-jumping is my all time favorite!

- eating watermelon, 'cause watermelon needs to be eaten in the summer!

- my birthday ( just thought I'd throw that out there!)

- going to the beach and playing in the sand ( I am not too old to play in the sand!)

- a break from routine

- the feeling that it will always be a comfortable temperature and you'll never have to put socks on again. But whose kidding, that feeling disappears the first time it rains. :)

Happy Start of the School Year! (If that's a thing...)

Until next time!

Unchanging One

Matt. 5:14 says we are the light of the world, a city set on a hill. But where do we get that light? All we're doing is reflecting God's light like the moon reflects the suns. Have you ever felt like God is so near? that your shining brightly? But then there are other times where you feel like He's so far away? Like the moon when it goes behind a cloud. We see God's light penetrating through the darkness clearly at times, but at others, it dims. But though it seems dim to us, really it's just as bright. It's us that have drifted farther away. Gods light never goes out, never dims. It comes out when the clouds drift away. Are you, and will you, be a light for Christ? He's always there, ready to make you shine. All you have to do is remove the clouds.

Silver Star

Hello again! Finally...
We went hiking on with friends on Tuesday and, as I am not great at finding things to post about, you get to hear all about it. Lucky you! :) Well, two miles up, two miles down, with added rock throwing off the top, equals: A really sore shoulder, with the bonus of tired legs. Still it was fun. It's called
Silver Star, and they really thought it out: A 10 mile gravel road leads up to it, which, ( I'm sure they planned it) happens to be full of potholes and ruts, so that after driving up in our fifteen passenger, nearly twenty year old van, your muscles are nice and loose.;)

My friend Karen, me, and my sister Julia.

My brother Daniel and I.

And an update on my life: It currently consists of writing, laundry, staying at home, and reading.
Pretty basic. We are taking the summer off of school. (Which we never do, but it's fine with me!)
So, I will try to post again within the next week, but I'm not very consistent.

February 18, 2017// By Becca Weston

I keep looking through our lovely wedding photos and they are making me so happy! We had the most wonderful, magical wedding day!

I wasn't sure what to expect, we knew it was going to be wonderful and emotionally charged and so busy! The women in my life kept telling me that I should just relax and expect that anything that could go wrong was going to go wrong, and I just needed to roll with it. What I didn't expect was to have my venue flood two days before the wedding!! I freaked out a little bit, however by our wedding day the building was dry and fine!

February 18th was mostly cloudy, and slightly chilly, but wasn't raining! My maid of honor, Hannah, and I arrived at the Grange very early for make-up and hair, and it was completely surreal to walk in and fully realize that I was getting married to my best friend in only 4 1/2 hours! The morning flew past, and I was so much more emotional than I anticipated. :)

My favorite wedding pictures are always the first look photographs. While wedding planning, and reading dozens of wedding blogs, every bride said that they were stressed and nervous until the first look, so I knew that I wanted to do it, especially because I wanted to do photos before the ceremony so we would still have a special moment. I was a complete mess of emotions and nerves right before I went upstairs to see Scott for the first time. But when I finally made it up there, it was amazing and I calmed down and the rest of the day was wonderful!

Scott looked absolutely amazing! He was a wonderful sport about a pink tie. ;) It still blows my mind that we're actually married!!

I think the flower girl dresses were my favorite thing about the whole wedding! They were absolutely darling, and Lydia was so excited about hers! :)

We had a slight issue with ordering the bridesmaid dresses, and it was almost disastrous, but three weeks before, we found dresses on Amazon that ended up being perfect and beautiful!

My sisters looked so grown up and beautiful!

Isn't she adorable and the sweetest thing ever??

I knew I had to request the photo of Scott's face when I walked down the aisle! It's so sweet!!

Hannah sang the most beautiful rendition of "How Deep the Father's Love for Us," with my oldest brother, Thomas, accompanying her with the guitar. It was stunning!

We decided to keep our ceremony and reception very simple, skipping most traditions. For our reception, we served cake, cookies, fruit and drinks, and to spend the afternoon just visiting with our guests. It was lovely!

The night before the wedding a ton of the people from my church helped us set up, which was extremely awesome. It went so much fast than we anticipated! Everything turned out beautifully. I wanted to keep the tables simple, but still pretty, and they turned out so well!!

We hadn't wanted to do the whole cake tradition, but got talked into it at the last minute. And it turned out pretty cute!!

Hannah made the sweetest, cutest toast ever!
We snuck out of the reception half way through, because the sun came out for a few moments, and the photos turned out so cute!

My parents pulled wigs out and sang a rendition of "I've Got You Babe" at the end of the reception... It was very amusing and very "them."

We left the reception, blissfully happy and incredibly excited.... Only to return an hour later... because I realized that I had the keys to the building in my purse. But it turned out fine, and then Scott and I left for our honeymoon, a wonderful cruise to Ensenada Mexico, which was quite the adventure. (Seasickness is a very real thing!!!)

We have now been married 73 amazing days!! I am exited to be married for the rest of forever! Its been even more wonderful than I even imagined. I love being able to spend so much time together, and our wonderful little house. Its adorable!

I started working several weeks ago, as a {almost full time} Nanny, and I am happy to be busy!

Photo Credit and a huge THANK YOU to John Hainline who did the most amazing job with our photos!! They turned out stunning!
